Tour Details

Santorini without Barriers!

An ideal private tour for seniors or mobility impaired persons.

Visit the highlights of one of the most beautiful islands in the world without having to worry about accessibility issues. Santorini is famous for its breathtaking views, volcanic landscapes and unique architecture. However, it is not a friendly place for the wheelchair user because of the numerous steps and narrow cobbled streets of the island’s villages and the steep hills of the countryside.
We are here to make Santorini accessible for you. We use a mini van equipped with a special ramp that will transport the wheelchair user safely and comfortably to Santorini’s best attractions. Our Tour Leader will accompany you throughout the whole tour and make sure you enjoy this magnificent island in the best possible way. She/ He will take you to Santorini’s best spots, where you will experience amazing views without having to climb stairs, be able to reach famous volcanic beaches, or enjoy a meal/drink at an accessible restaurant/cafe.

Itinerary:

This is a four-hour tour. Except for Oia which is the only mandatory stop, we offer you a number of additional suggestions to complete the tour. You can use our recommendations to design your preferred itinerary.

  • 1st stop Oia (2 hours visit, mandatory)

On our way to Oia, we make a stop to enjoy a remote view of the characteristic architecture of the famous village with its typical white houses built in the volcanic stone. Oia is a top destination for the visitors of Santorini and our tour leader will take you to the best accessible spots of the picturesque village.

  • 2nd / 3rd stop Destination of your choice

    1st option – Megalochori (optional)
Megalochori is a peaceful, picturesque village on the south side of Santorini. The village is mentioned in historical records of the 17th century AD. Famous for the tripartite bell tower , its pirate hideaways and wine canavas, Megalochori has a history of merchants and wealth which will enchant you.

2nd option – Argyros Estate Winery (optional)
Experience a unique wine adventure. Santorini’s vineyards are the most traditional in all Europe, which adds up to the unique character of the island’s wines. Dry winters with only limited rainfall, the moisture levels specific to the island, and the combination of volcanic soils give wines of exquisite taste. Argyros Estate was established in 1903, is based in Episkopi, and owns 120 ha of vineyards. You will have the chance to talk to a somelier and to taste 4-5 glasses of selected wines with an assortment of local products.

3rd option – Akrotiri Archaeological Site (optional)
Located on the southern edge of the island, the impressive Bronze Age site of Akrotiri is also known as the “prehistoric Pompeii”. In Akrotiri you get to understand the tremendous effect the volcanic eruption of the 17th century BC had on the island. Excavations have revealed that prehistoric Akrotiri was a very sophisticated society. We explore the ancient city that was frozen in time because of the volcanic eruption, walk through its stone paved streets and squares where two- and three-story houses were built with worked stone and richly decorated with figural wall paintings.

4th option – Prehistoric Thera Museum (optional)
Located in Fira, this museum houses the spectacular finds unearthed in the prehistoric town of Akrotiri. Due to the volcanic destruction of 17th c. BC, this archaeological site preserved many perishable materials usually not found in other sites, such as baskets or the layout of furniture used in the houses of Akrotiri, as well as impressive pieces of art, among which the Late Bronze Age wall paintings should not be missed.

5th option – Volcanic Beach (optional)
We visit the organized black beach of Perivolos or that of Akrotiri. Enjoy the amazing view, or have a delicious lunch overlooking the Aegean Sea at Perivolos, or the Volcano caldera at Akrotiri.
